West Liberty, W.Va., November 4, 2024 – West Liberty University’s Gary E. West College of Business will host its third annual Young Executives Summit on Wednesday, November 6th at 10am. As part of the David Wright Executive Seminar Series, the summit will take place in College Hall and includes a reception in Main Hall (Room 224) afterward.
The objective of the summit is to engage and encourage West College of Business students, especially those nearing graduation, to contemplate life after college. Each of the speakers, recent graduates themselves, share their insight into the business world. By sharing the wide range of experience each has encountered post-graduation, the speakers enhance the knowledge of the West College of Business as they prepare to enter the workforce.
“We are coming up on our third year of the Young Executives Summit and it has been very well received; many students are excited for this event. The design of the program has come to full fruition as it gives the insight of a young executive to students who are going to enter into the workforce,” expressed Ingrid Loy, Professor of Marketing.
“I’m thrilled to be hosting the Young Executives Summit at West Liberty University. This event is an excellent opportunity for our students to connect with professionals, obtain firsthand knowledge, and gain valuable insights that extend beyond the classroom. It’s exciting to be part of an experience that not only broadens student knowledge but also inspires them to pursue their goals with greater ambition and confidence,” shared Luke Miller, a West Liberty student who is co-hosting the Young Executives event this year.
The other host of the summit this year, Gia Campbell, was quoted saying “I enjoy hosting events like the Young Executives Summit because of the connections I make and the public speaking practice it gives me. I plan to one day be in the position to attend something like the Young Executives Summit as a young executive myself.”
The summit includes a panel of four key speakers:
- Brian Campbell: Patient Support Specialist at Solventum
- Stevie Boles: Marketing and Outreach Specialist at Touchstone Research Laboratory
- Persephoni Martin: Director of Franchise Operations at GNC
- Patrick O’Neill: Director of Marketing at Wheeling Nailers
Three out of our four panelists this year are alumni of West Liberty. Persephoni Martin attended University of Akron and graduated from West Liberty University. Stevie Boles graduated from West Liberty University. Brian Campbell graduated from West Liberty university for his undergraduate degree as well as his graduate degree.
