Speaker Wayne Campbell ‘85 will visit the WLU campus for two eye-opening presentations on drug addiction and awareness, Wednesday, April 10.

Tyler Campbell

His powerful presentations will take place from 12-2 p.m. in College Hall or from 6-8 p.m. in the Alumni Lounge, College Union building. Both presentations include an audience question and answer period.

A resident of Pickerington, Ohio, Campbell earned his Bachelor of Science degree here at WLU. His son, Tyler, was a D-I football player at the University of Akron who tragically died of a drug overdose after becoming addicted to prescription drugs prescribed to him due to a sports injury. Campbell will share the story and discuss ways to live a drug-free life.

This information is invaluable to any student or parent, said Christy Bennington, WLU director of health services who is sponsoring the speaker. Students, faculty, staff and the public are encouraged to attend.

Tyler’s Light serves as a forum to equip the community of Pickerington and Fairfield County, Ohio, along with other regions, with information and resources to help them choose a drug-free life while providing resources for family members and/or friends who are involved in the battle to defeat drug abuse.
