WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Aug. 17, 2017 – It’s back to class and campus for West Liberty University students who move in this weekend, Aug. 18 – 20. There are a variety of activities planned to make it a smooth transition from home to Hilltop.

Student workers Katie Higginbotham of Buffalo, W.Va. and Kelsi Johnson of Wheeling are ready to assist in the WLU bookstore.

New students move-in on Friday, Aug. 18, and returning students on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 19 – 20. Classes begin at the Highlands Center campus on Aug. 19 and on the main campus on Aug. 21.

Housing and Student Life staff coordinate Topperfest activities, a two-week line-up of events designed to welcome students to West Liberty University and get them acclimated to campus through both informative and entertaining events. Inspiring Topper Pride, the activities encourage school spirit and give new students the chance to interact with each other and find friendships that will last a lifetime.

Topperfest begins with the President’s Picnic from 11-2:30 p.m., Friday, August 18 as WLU’s president Dr. Stephen Greiner welcomes students to campus. The picnic will be held in the Marketplace this year due to expected inclement weather.
