WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Nov. 3, 2022 — West Liberty University’s Gary E. West College of Business students were invited to participate in Robert Morris University’s 19th Annual Sport Management Student Career Summit to gain some real-world perspectives.

The summit, held on Friday, Oct. 21, 2022 at the UPMC Events Center near Pittsburgh, included more than 20 professional sports organizations. The event aimed to help prepare students for professional development in the sport and entertainment industry. Some notable organizations in attendance were the Baltimore Ravens, the NBA, the Pittsburgh Steelers, Pirates, Penguins and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

WLU students who attended the summit included Mark Donnelly, Maxwell Fiedorczyk, Dani Keller Vieira, Arriana Manzay, Kerwyn Marshall, Derek Roehner and Anton Schulz. Students had a chance to listen to expert panels and participate in roundtable discussions.

Dr. Craig Crow, professor of management at WLU, also attended the summit.

Crow said, “Robert Morris University has a strong sport management alumni network and is kind enough each year to put on the conference, not just for their students, but also invite students from other colleges in the region to attend.”

Crow added that his entire department is thankful to the Robert Morris Sport Management program for their time and effort in hosting the event every year and making it accessible to students from other colleges.

The students who had the opportunity to attend networked, listened to a variety of speakers, and participated in roundtable discussions.

Maxwell Fiedorczyk, a senior Sport Management student, said the event was extremely well-organized.

“There were so many great people there with a lot of knowledge to share, and everyone from West Liberty seemed to enjoy it a lot. Robert Morris did a great job hosting the event and I’m grateful that I was able to attend,” Fiedorczyk said.
