A prosecuting attorney in Wheeling will discuss on the West Liberty University campus March 3 how forensic investigations are conducted in cases of child sexual victimization.

Ms. Jenna Perkins Wood, an Ohio County assistant district attorney, will address Dr. Susan Herrick’s class on victimology as part of the criminal justice studies program at West Liberty.  The presentation is open to the university community at noon that day in the Boyle Conference Center.

“Ms. Wood has extensive legal experience in private practice before joining the county prosecuting attorney’s office here,’ said Dr. Herrick.  “With a 1988 B.S. degree in nursing from West Liberty she brings first-hand medical expertise to the legal profession.”

A cum laude graduate of WLU, Wood earned, in 1995, her Juris Doctor from the West Virginia University School of Law.  She is a registered nurse and holds certification as a trauma nurse specialist.

Prior to joining the Ohio County Prosecuting Attorney’s office, Wood was a partner in the Wheeling law firm of Rawle and Henderson.  She is admitted to practice in West Virginia, as well as the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Northern Districts of West Virginia and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit.  Her professional affiliations include the Ohio County Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar Association and the American Association of Nurse Attorneys.
