The American Dental Association (ADA) Foundation selected West Liberty University senior Nicole Baker as recipient of the ADA Foundation Allied Dental Student Scholarship for Dental Hygiene recently.

“I am very grateful for the scholarship and look forward to completing my degree. West Liberty’s dental hygiene program is a great program and I recommend it to anyone,” she said.

Baker is the daughter of Mark and Melinda Baker, Cambridge, and graduated from Cambridge High School. She will graduate with her bachelor’s degree next spring and the $1,000 award will be used for the 2012-2013 academic year.

Baker, who maintains a cumulative 4.0 GPA, easily qualified for the scholarship, which carries with it the academic requirement of a 3.5 GPA.

Baker is working as a dental assistant in a Cambridge dental office this summer and looking forward to a career in dental work.

The West Liberty University School of Dental Hygiene will mark its 75th anniversary this fall and was established in 1938. The first class graduated in 1940. It is accredited by the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation and offers both the Associate of Science and Bachelor of degrees.
