West Liberty University admissions counselor Rhonda Tysk is serving as president for the West Virginia Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (WVACRAO) for the current year.

“The WVACRAO is a professional organization that is responsive to the world of college admissions. We try to help all our colleges and universities share ideas and become the best we can be so our students have the best college experience that is available,” Tysk explained.

The WVACRAO was established in 1932 and is open to all Mountain State colleges and universities, both public and private.

Tysk recently attended the national conference in San Francisco, Ca., and is now planning the annual conference, which will be held this fall at the Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack  & Resort, October 9 – 11, New Cumberland, W.Va.

Tysk previously served as treasurer of the WVACRAO organization for four years before taking on her current role of president.

Tysk joined the WLU admissions’ office in 1989 and has held her current position since 2003.  She earned her undergraduate degree at West Liberty and earned a Master’s of Legal Studies degree at West Virginia University.

She also is active in the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the American College Testing (ACT) organization.

A resident of Wheeling, she is married to Joe Tysk and together they have four children.
