WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 28, 2017 — West Liberty University students enrolled in Communications 481, the Public Relations Senior Capstone class, will hold a Silent Auction at the West Liberty Highlands Center to help raise money and awareness for A Child’s Place CASA, Ltd. The event is scheduled to take place at noon, Saturday, April 29. Proceeds will benefit abused and neglected children as well as volunteers who are involved with the organization.
“We are so pleased to assist this community non-profit and encourage the public to come and join us Saturday,” said Brett Cox, one of the seniors working on the silent auction fundraiser.
Admission to the silent auction is free, and tickets to bid on the donated items will be available at the event.
“I believe it’s important for our students to understand how much need actually exists in our community,” said Tammie Beagle, assistant professor of Journalism at West Liberty University, and instructor of the capstone course.
“This silent auction is part of a larger service project associated with their senior capstone, and the students themselves selected A Child’s Place CASA as the non-profit they wanted to support. I’m very proud of their efforts,” she added.
