The West Liberty University Institute for Innovation in Education is sponsoring an opportunity for anyone interested in the Android Tablet device to learn from the experts. Technical representatives of manufacturers Acer, Lenovo, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba and iSonic will be available from noon to 7 p.m. on Nov. 30 at the WLU Highlands Center lobby. The public is invited and there is no charge to attend.

WLU Chief Technology Officer Jim Clark explained that the Institute for Innovation in Education, under the direction of Senior Research Fellow Susan McGowan-Koyzis, is conducting a research project to evaluate the value of the Android units in the academic setting with the ultimate purpose of determining new means of delivering quality instruction in the classroom and beyond.

“Android Tablets will be distributed to faculty of West Liberty University. They will research the applications pertinent to their particular areas of specialization and how those apps might address their needs,” he said.

He added that this is not a sales event. The experts will be available to demonstrate the new techniques and applications useful for meeting both academic and consumer needs.
