West Liberty, W.Va., September 22, 2025 – West Liberty University Professor of Visual Communication Moonjung Kang has been invited for the second consecutive year to serve as a juror for PosterFor, one of the world’s most prestigious international poster design competitions.
Kang’s recognition underscores her international reputation while also bringing visibility to West Liberty University within the global design community.
PosterFor annually explores four diverse themes addressing urgent social and environmental issues, cultural trends, or topics of global significance. The competition receives nearly 6,000 submissions each year from more than 40 countries. Winning designs are exhibited in high-profile venues including New York’s Times Square, international galleries, and through digital platforms worldwide—always accompanied by recognition of the full juror panel.
This year’s judging panel brought together 32 distinguished designers, artists, educators, and organizers from 16 countries, representing some of the most respected voices in international poster design.
Reflecting on the honor, Kang said, “I understand that my selection as a juror comes from many years of guiding students to award-winning results in international design competitions. Since joining WLU in 2009, I have encouraged students to participate in both domestic and international competitions as a way to engage with global design trends, as our geographic location provides fewer direct opportunities for international exposure. Through their success, my own name has become more visible, leading to this opportunity. It is deeply rewarding to serve alongside such prominent figures in the design world and, most of all, to showcase West Liberty University’s name to a global audience.”
Notably, Kang guided three students to top awards at the 2023 PosterFor competition (announced in 2024), including gold and grand prizes, marking one of WLU’s strongest showings on the international stage.
At WLU, Kang teaches Design Thinking, UX/UI Design, Branding, Motion Graphics, and the Senior Capstone Project, equipping students with forward-looking knowledge to meet the rapid demands of the design industry. She also serves as a board member of the Korea Contents Association (KOCON), an international research initiative bridging design and media scholarship.
