Pittsburgh Leadership Program Features Development Director Angie Zambito-Hill

West Liberty University Director of Development Angela Zambito-Hill will join national fundraising consultant Jay Frey in an educational presentation to Pittsburgh high school student leaders on Friday, Feb. 7.

The program is part of the Students in Action 2014 Pittsburgh Regional Midwinter Leadership Conference and will take place at Highmark Inc., Penn Avenue Place Auditorium, 501 Penn Avenue.

Speaking as representatives of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), the duo will share the fundraising basics with student leaders attending this Jefferson Award-sponsored daylong program.

Both Frey and Zambito-Hill are certified fundraising executives (CFRE). Frey is on the board of Western PA chapter of AFP and Zambito-Hill earned her certification last spring. She has been employed in fundraising for eight years, four with WLU.

Frey, who resides in Wheeling, has amassed more than 35 years in the fundraising profession.

Ninety students, representing 11 high schools will attend. Keynote presenter is Atiya Abdelmalik, MSN, RN, Director, Community Programs Highmark Health.

Frey and Zambito-Hill will encourage the students to consider fundraising as a career as they explain the fine points of their business including:

Jodi Klebick, Jefferson Awards Pittsburgh Regional Director, is coordinating the program, which runs from 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m.

In 1972, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, U.S. Senator Robert Taft Jr., and Sam Beard founded the Jefferson Awards program to honor the unsung heroes of our country. The program is named after founding father Thomas Jefferson, a man who reflected the spirit of excellence in America as author of the Declaration of Independence, President of the United States, and advocate for a free press and freedom of religion.
