Physician Assistant Graduates Celebrate Commencement

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., June 17, 2019 — West Liberty University held its Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies commencement at 6 p.m., Friday, June 14 in Kelly Theatre and welcomed Reynold’s Hospital CEO Dr. David Hess to the ceremony as keynote speaker.

“We thank Dr. Hess for sharing his expertise and experience with our 2019 class of physician assistants. His knowledge and encouragement was meaningful for us all,” said Program Director William Childers, EdD MS, PA-C.

Chairman of the WLU Board of Governors Patrick Ford offered greetings, remarks and congratulations to the class.

WLU Provost Dr. Brian Crawford conferred the degrees. Afterwards, all graduates recited the PA professional oath.

The Class of 2019 and their hometowns include: Connor Matthew Clark, Parsippany, N.J.; Aubrey Elizabeth Graham-West, Dallas, Texas; Ashley Danielle Haught, Moundsville, W.Va.; Bryce Lauren Hinde, Fulton, Kan.; Anthony Fitzgerald Houston II, Elkhart, Ind.; Garrett Rodger Lyman, Provo, Vt.; Sierra Nicole Moore, St. Clairsville, Ohio; Jenna Nicole Ogden, Steubenville, Ohio; Kevin Lee Paschall, San Diego, Calif.; Mark Robert Penaranda, Charlottesville, Va.; Douglas Mark Reckner, Somerset, Pa.; Alexandria Christine Rios, Fort Worth, Texas; Jordan Rachelle Robinson, Mathias, W.Va. and Whitney Nicole Wigal, Parkersburg, W.Va.

This was the sixth class of PAs to graduate from WLU bringing the total number of WLU PAs up to 98 professionals. The graduates will next take their Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) to become certified as they begin their professional careers.

A commencement reception followed the ceremony in the Nutting Gallery.
