Root Sports Pittsburgh, the cable home of the Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Penguins, will also be the cable home for the No. 3-ranked West Liberty University men’s basketball team over the next three games.

The regional cable system has signed to carry the WLU-TV14 productions of the Hilltoppers’ games against Charleston, Fairmont State and Shepherd on its network, starting with Monday night’s 95-77 victory against Charleston, which will be re-broadcast on Root Sports Pittsburgh at 6 p.m. today.

Saturday’s game at Fairmont State will be shown live on Root Sports with a 4 p.m. tipoff from Fairmont’s Joe Retton Gym. Starting time for the Fairmont-West Liberty women’s game will be moved from 2 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in order to avoid any potential conflicts.

Shepherd comes to the ASRC on Feb. 18 for the third and final game of the agreement. The West Liberty-Shepherd game has been set for a tape-delay broadcast on Feb. 20 at 6 p.m.

This is not the first time WLU-TV14 has worked with Root Sports Pittsburgh. The West Liberty television station received several compliments after producing the live telecast of last year’s WVIAC Tournament men’s basketball championship game for the regional cable network along with a tape-delay production of the women’s tournament championship game.

With additional cable outlets in eastern Ohio and western Maryland, Root Sports is available nationwide on DirecTV (659) and Dish Network (428). Root Sports annually delivers approximately 350 live events to more than 2.4 million potential viewers.
