WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Oct. 2, 2019 — New roles have been assigned to several West Liberty University employees.

Vice President of Institutional Advancement Jason Koegler

“One of my goals is to increase West Liberty’s connection with multiple communities in the Northern Panhandle and the entire tri-state. This realignment of duties is meant to address that need and result in greater outreach to our region,” said Dr. Stephen Greiner, WLU president.

Vice President of Institutional Advancement Jason Koegler is now adding the duties of government and community relations to his role of development.

“In my new role, I can be fully committed to advancing the University’s most important priorities,” said Koegler. “A big part of my work will be to act as an additional connection between the university leadership and community leaders at the state and local levels.”

A member of President’s Cabinet, Koegler leads Topper Station, the recently developed broadcasting platform that compliments WLTV-14 programming.

Executive Director of Alumni Relations and Special Projects Ron Witt

Executive Director of Alumni Relations and University Special Projects Ron Witt is now handling more planning projects.

A member of President’s Cabinet, Witt will maintain his duties of Alumni Relations. Additionally, he is taking on a variety of duties as he leads special projects, as assigned by the president.

Also a West Liberty alumnus, Witt most recently was instrumental in land acquisition for campus expansion projects. He also secured a tenant for the restaurant facility located in the events center, which will open soon.

Alumni Relations Coordinator Alexis Montes

Alumni Relations Coordinator Alexis Montes, who was hired in 2018 as the athletic advancement coordinator, will now expand her duties to include assisting in the planning of alumni events, including Homecoming.

Although she’ll remain the coordinator of the Hilltopper Athletic Club, she will now be active in alumni outreach and annual giving programs, working closely with the WLU Foundation. Montes is an alumna and former student athlete active in track and field.

West Liberty University is West Virginia’s oldest public university and today it offers more than 70 undergraduate majors, plus a growing number of graduate programs, both online and on campus.
