New Foundation Board Members Announced

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., June 17, 2015 — West Liberty University Foundation recently announced the appointment of new board members Bruce and Donna Berlage and Gregory Stewart.

Alumna Donna Waugh Berlage earned an associate degree in dental hygiene and a Bachelor of Science in Education at West Liberty. She worked as a Registered Dental Hygienist for more than 40 years. Donna also was an account representative for both Butler Dental Products and Revlon.

A resident of McLean, Va., she was born in Washington, D.C. and is now retired. She is an active board member of the National Museum for Women in the Arts and serves on the board of the Salvation Army of Metropolitan Washington, D.C. Donna also serves on the Women’s Committee of the National Symphony.

“West Liberty made a huge difference in my life and I want to make sure that others have the same opportunity,” said Donna Berlage.

Her husband Bruce, though not an alumnus, has been involved with West Liberty as a donor and benefactor. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Maryland and completed business graduate study at George Washington University. He is a real estate broker and homebuilder in Virginia.

Bruce formerly was a securities broker and former director of Nations Bank, N.C., which was one of the largest banking corporations in the United States until 1998 when it acquired Bank of America and took that name.

Bruce serves as director and past president of Maryland 4-H Foundation and is a life director of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association. He is former president and director of Home Owners Warranty Corporation and a former president and director of Scott’s Run Homeowner Association.

Stewart is a native of Wheeling and resides in the Warwood neighborhood of Wheeling. A West Liberty alumnus, he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in 1986 and now serves as Ohio County Administrator and Economic Development Director for the three-member Ohio County Commission and Development Authority.

He also earned a Master in Business Administration degree at Wheeling Jesuit University.

He and his wife Jodi have three children.

The WLU Foundation also awarded emeritus status to long serving members R. Clark Morton and G. Randolph Worls, both of Wheeling.
