New City Manager is Alumnus

MOUNDSVILLE, W.Va., Feb. 8, 2019 — 1983 alumnus Richard Healy was sworn in as the City Manager of Moundsville and began his official duties on Jan. 1, 2019.

“He is a great example of a successful graduate and leader. We congratulate him on his achievement and share his news as inspiration to our current students,” said President Stephen Greiner.

Healy earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a specialization in management at WLU and went on to build a career in retail and building supplies.

After that he transitioned into a position with Belomar Regional Council, which works with Ohio, Marshall, Wetzel couties in West Virginia and Belmont County in Ohio and fosters a cooperative effort in planning, programming, implementation and development of local and regional plans, programs and projects through the joint participation of citizens and elected officials.

He performed grant writing and administrative duties at Belomar.

“I am grateful for my education and time at West Liberty. The College of Business prepared me well for my career,” Healy said.
