New Campus Activities Coordinator Plans to Strengthen Student Experience

Kate Billings has been selected as campus activities coordinator in the Office of Housing and Student Life at West Liberty University.

She began her duties on Jan. 16. 

“I’m excited to join the housing and student life office at West Liberty University! I’m looking forward to helping grow campus activities and showing our students the multitude of clubs and organizations they can participate in,” Billings said.

Billings is responsible for planning campus events and activities, supervising clubs and organizations and overseeing the Greek life system of fraternities and sororities. Her supervisor is Jim Compston, area coordinator for First Year Residential Experience, Housing and Student Life.

Previously, Billings was assistant general manager of softball operations and director of ticketing and merchandise with the PA Rebellion and the Washington Wild Things.

She began her career with the Wild Things in 2010, working in community relations and merchandise. Before that, Billings started her professional career in sports with the Bridgeport Bluefish, Bridgeport, Conn., as the merchandise and client services coordinator.

During her time in Washington, Billings had the opportunity to plan many events at CONSOL Energy Park, including the Frontier League All-Star Game, for which she earned the Commissioner Award of Excellence in 2013.

Billings earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Consulting/Leadership degree from Binghamton University (New York). She originally hails from Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
