West Liberty, W. Va., August 31, 2024 – The West Liberty University Choir Program is seeking members to join its volunteer Community Choir to perform Robert Ray’s Gospel Mass during a Friday, November 15 concert at Wheeling’s historic Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church.
While the Gospel Mass is a sacred work, it is open to anyone who wants to share in an uplifting musical celebration with the community.
The concert will also feature students presenting the premiering work of Matthew Fossa, a prolific composer and Principal Oboist for the Pensacola (Florida) Symphony Orchestra.
Those interested are invited to attend an initial meeting taking place 6:30-8 p.m. Monday, September 9 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church. Subsequent rehearsals will be held every Monday at the same time through November 11. Music reading is helpful but not required.
