For the sixth session of West Liberty University’s Financial Planning Seminar Series titled “Financial Planning in Uncertain Times,” Tim Greene, Owner/Engineer with Land and Mineral Management and Secretary/Treasurer of the National Association of Royalty Owners will serve as the featured speaker.

Greene will deliver the seminar ”Understanding Mineral Rights: Coal, Gas and Oil” on Thursday, July 22, at 7:00 p.m.  Due to a high level of interest in this subject, this week’s seminar will be moved to the Health Plan Pavilion at WesBanco Arena in downtown Wheeling.

“We are very pleased that West Liberty University’s Financial Planning Series has been so well received by the community.  With the recent activity in our region regarding leases of mineral rights, we are anticipating a larger audience than usual leading us to move this week’s seminar to WesBanco Arena.  Tim Greene brings vast mineral rights knowledge to the table and we are very fortunate that he is willing to share his knowledge with the public,” commented Ron Witt.

Greene has served the State of West Virginia as an environmental specialist for the Division of Environmental Protection, Office of Oil and Gas.  His duties in the private sector have included managing oil and gas properties for landowners, including: royalties, identifying deductions, reconciling surface damages, packaging un-leased acreage, and negotiating leases and rights of way.

In addition to his role as Secretary/Treasurer for the Appalachian Chapter of the National Association of Royalty Owners, Greene is an active member of the National Association of Petroleum Landmen, and the Independent Oil Association.

The 2010 Financial Planning Series will return to the WLU Highlands Center for its final session on August 5th when Charles O’Data of West Liberty University will present “Income Retention and Philanthropy: How Charitable Trusts, Gift Annuities and Life Insurance Can be Structured to Enhance Income and Preserve Wealth”.

All sessions are open to the general public and free of charge.  For further information or to register for a session, please contact Director of Planned Giving Ron Witt: giving@westliberty.edu or (304) 336-8079.  Registration may also be completed at the seminar.
