West Liberty, W.Va., September 24, 2025 – West Liberty University proudly announces that Dr. Sherri Theaker, Dean of the College of Education and Human Performance, and Dr. Richard Whitehead, Chair of Teacher Education, have been invited to present their research at the 24th Annual Hawaii International Conference on Education, scheduled for January 8–11, 2026, in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Their peer-reviewed presentation, “Motivation, Mentorship, and Momentum: Exploring the Impact of a Dissertation Residency for Online Ed.D. Students – A Phenomenological Inquiry into the Transformative Power of Face-to-Face Learning in a Virtual Program” examines how in-person dissertation workshops within online doctoral programs can significantly shape student success, community-building, and scholarly identity
