International Concert Performer to Appear at WLU

This Sunday, February 27th at 3:00 p.m. on the West Liberty University campus Kelly Theater Hall of Fine Arts marks the first time a marionette artist has been featured in the school’s concert series.  This performance is free and open to the public.

“The Huber Marionettes make for a unique and exciting event,” said Gerald Lee, coordinator of the WLU Concert Series.  “You won’t want to miss this stunning and most entertaining performance by The Huber Marionettes,”

Phillip Huber, is a world-renowned “marionette artist,” is most widely known for his work in the 3-time Academy Award nominated film BEING JOHN MALKOVICH. Phillip’s stage credits feature BUSKER ALLEY starring Tommy Tune, IT’S MAGIC starring Harry Anderson, THAT’S CHRISTMAS starring Sandy Duncan, CHRISTMAS WITH FRIENDS & NABORS starring Jim Nabors, and THE ROAD TO HOLLYWOOD with Tony-winning director Walter Bobby.

According to Lee, Phillip created a special rock opera performance piece DON’T TRUST ANYONE OVER THIRTY in collaboration with concept artist Dan Graham and video artist Tony Ousler for contemporary art museum performances in Miami, Berlin, Vienna, and Minneapolis. Phillip’s television appearances include THE TONIGHT SHOW with Jay Leno, LE PLUS GRANDE CABARET DU MONDE for French TV, SHOWBIZ TODAY for CNN and numerous commercials. Phillip has been a guest performer for international festivals in Norway, Spain, Portugal, France, Ireland, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Japan, and South Korea.
