Guest Violin and Piano Recital Sunday, March 28th at College Hall

West Liberty University will welcome Patricia van der Sloot and Catherine Crotty for a guest recital – a Violin and Piano Duo – on Sunday, March 28th, 7:30 p.m., College Hall.

The event is free and open to the public and includes Sonatas by Beethoven, Debussy, and Brahms.

About the Performers:

Patricia van der Sloot is a graduate of the Eastman School of Music She performed with the Calgary Philharmonic and the Edmonton Symphony. Patricia has played with various chamber orchestras including the Kensington Sinfonia, the Edmonton Chamber Orchestra, and the Alberta Baroque Ensemble, all including recording for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation.

Catherine Crotty was principal keyboardist with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra for over twenty years and for eighteen years was a member of the Artist Faculty at the West Virginia University Community Arts Program where she taught many prize winning students. She has a long and rich experience as a chamber musician and accompanist. Presently, in addition to performing in the Viognier Duo, she concertizes with soprano Janis-Rozena Peri. Catherine holds a Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from West Virginia University and a Master of Music degree in piano performance from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Her principal teachers were Oliver Manning, Olga Conus and David Bar-Illan.
