GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES TO GATHER FOR STATEWIDE FORUM ON CAMPUS OF WEST LIBERTY UNIVERISTY

West Virginia voters in the May 14 primary election can assess the candidates in a forum to be held at West Liberty University and broadcast statewide.

West Virginia Radio’s Hoppy Kercheval, host of Talkline, will moderate the forums; for Republicans on Wednesday, April 27 and, for Democrats on Thursday, April 28.  Both forums will be from 10:07 a.m. until noon.  The public is invited to be part of a studio audience in Kelly Theater on West Liberty’s main campus.
“As voters start to focus on their choices for governor, West Liberty University is proud to host this dialogue moderated by Hoppy Kercheval,” said Robin Capehart, president of the school.  “The forum is structured so voters can better understand the vision of each candidate for the office of governor.”
West Liberty University’s cable television station, WLTV 14, will also televise the forum for rebroadcast in the northern panhandle.
Of the eight Republicans on the ballot, only candidate Cliff Elis has not confirmed his participation.  All but one of the eight Democrats has confirmed their participation; acting governor Earl Ray Tomblin has advised the school he is trying to rearrange his schedule to participate.
