WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Oct. 2, 2018 – West Liberty University’s annual Graduate School Expo adds a new twist this October as it combines graduate school programs with employment options.

“This fall we decided to invite employers and graduate schools to set-up and offer information to our students and the public in one convenient event. This way both students and professionals can explore career and master degree options at the same time and learn just what’s available to them in this region,” said Brigette Dawson, director of the Learning and Student Development Center, which is located in Main Hall.

The Graduate School Expo and Job Fair takes place from noon – 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10 in Blatnik Hall. Twenty-five graduate schools and employers are expected to be on hand.

“I want to encourage everyone considering a career step or graduate school in their future to come up to the hilltop and meet with these informative and helpful graduate school representatives. You will learn so much about requirements and steps necessary for planning your future. Asking questions is the first step in learning how to get into grad school and which programs suit you best,” Dawson said.

The event is co-sponsored by the Office of Graduate Studies and the Learning and Student Development Center.

“We are excited to co-host this event with the WLU Learning and Student Development Center allowing individuals to connect with employers while also exploring graduate school opportunities,” said Sara Sweeney, who is the director of the Office of Graduate Studies.

WLU’s graduate programs have been growing over the past several years and WLU now offers graduate degrees in clinical psychology, education, physician assistant studies, biology, professional studies and online master’s degrees in criminology, dental hygiene and the MBA.

Several of the graduate degree programs are totally online, including the MBA, the master’s of criminology and the master’s in dental hygiene. All of the programs are designed with working adults in mind and have convenient schedules.

Other schools that are attending include: California University of Pennsylvania, Capital University Law School, Clarion University, Malone University, Marshall University, Shippensburg University, University of Pittsburgh, Ursuline College, Walsh University, Waynesburg University, West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine, West Virginia University, Wheeling Jesuit University and Wright State University.
