WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Dec. 6, 2016 — West Liberty University will graduate 138 students at Fall Commencement 2016, to be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 10, in the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex (ASRC).

Wheeling resident and WLU Alumna Dr. Christina Greer will be the Commencement speaker. President Dr. Stephen Greiner will preside at the ceremony and will present Greer with an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree.

Greer will discuss the topic of triumphing over adversity in her talk entitled: “The Winding Road to Your Future.” 

Senior Cindi Truax Greathouse, also of Wheeling, will be the graduating student speaker, an honor she received based upon her grade point average. She is an elementary education major and plans to teach and earn her master’s degree after graduation.

The Commencement Ceremony will be televised live on WLU-TV 14 (Comcast Channel 14 and online at wltvonline.com.

Doors will open for seating at 9:30 a.m. and tickets are not required for Fall Commencement. Parking will be available for guests behind the ASRC. A reception for graduates, guests and families will be held in the College Union immediately following the ceremony.
