Executive Seminar Features Hospital CEO Dr. David Hess

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., April 9, 2018 — West Liberty University’s Gary E. West College of Business will host an Executive Seminar featuring WVU Medicine/ Reynolds Memorial Hospital CEO, Dr. David Hess, as the keynote speaker.

Hess will present his talk at noon, Tuesday, April 10 in College Hall and it is open to the public.

With extensive experience in leadership, from chief executive officer of a community hospital, to leading a medical staff consisting of private practice and employed physicians, Dr. Hess is a leader in the medical world.

Board certified in internal medicine and board eligible in pediatrics, his experience is extensive and will allow him to share his career advice and leadership lessons with students.

Functioning as the chief executive officer of the local hospital since December 2014, he has overseen quality initiatives, physician recruitment, and resource utilization. Hess also is medical director of community hospitalist programs for WVU Health Systems, providing medical and clinical leadership for three WVU Medicine system hospitalist programs and one hospitalist program outside of our system.

Owner of Glen Dale Medicine & Pediatrics, Dr. Hess was named West Virginia’s Rural Health Physician of the Year in 2009.     

Originally from Lumberport, W.Va., Hess attended the West Virginia University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University of Kentucky. He also earned bachelor degrees in both economics and chemistry at WVU.

Associate Professor of Management Dave Wright coordinates the annual Executive Seminar Series, which has been ongoing at WLU since 1986. The series features successful business, political and alumni leaders, all sharing their personal stories and business advice with students.

The College of Business offers students undergraduate degrees in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Entrepreneurship, Finance, General Business, Health Care Management, Management, Marketing, Sport Management and Tourism and Event Management.
