WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Feb. 18, 2020 — The West Liberty University Wind Symphony, conducted by Dr. Gretchen L. Pohlman and featuring special guest conductor Professor Patrick Garrett, will present a spring concert at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, located at 141 Kruger St., Wheeling.
The concert is free and open to the public.
A wind symphony concert has a unique sound and includes no string instruments, relying instead on wind and percussion.
Repertoire for the concert will consist of Gustav Holts’ “First Suite in E-Flat,” “Held Still in the Quick of Grace” by Jack Stamp, “A Time To Dance” by Julie Giroux, “Manatee Lyric Overture” by Robert Sheldon, and “” (a concert two-step) by Karl L. King. Spring Wind Symphony personnel include:
