West Liberty, W.Va., September 20, 2023 – The Employee Engagement Committee (EEC) at West Liberty University proudly announces the recipients of its Staff Recognition Awards for the academic year 2022-2023. This year’s award ceremony took place today, September 20th, at 12:00 pm on the vibrant Quad, where outstanding employees in three distinct categories were celebrated.
“The Employee Engagement Committee (EEC) is pleased to honor outstanding employees once again, through its Staff Recognition Award program. This program was designed to build morale, promote a positive working environment, and foster “team spirit” among the staff at WLU.”, said West Liberty University President, Dr. Tim Borchers.
The prestigious True Topper Award recognizes individuals who consistently go above and beyond in their roles. This year’s recipient of the True Topper Award is Joe Mills for his exceptional dedication and contributions to the university.
Outstanding customer service is crucial in any institution, and this award acknowledges individuals who have exemplified excellence in this area. The deserving winner of the Customer Service Award is Tammy (Tamara) Bonar.
Teamwork is a cornerstone of success and the Top Team Award honors groups within the university that have demonstrated exceptional collaboration and achievements. The 2022-2023 Top Team Award goes to the Enrollment Services Department, comprising Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, Campus Activities, Counseling, Health Services, and the International Office.
In addition to the recognition and accolades, the True Topper and Customer Service Awards winners each received a monetary reward of $250, graciously provided by the WLU Foundation. The Top Team Award comes with the honor of displaying a Traveling Trophy in their office throughout the academic year.
President Tim Borchers, Ph.D., signed Certificates of Nomination for each nominee, recognizing their valuable contributions to West Liberty University.
The Active EEC Committee Members, Camille Irvin, Michelle Panepucci, Steve Criniti, Kyle Cooper, Amanda Bennett, Laura Musilli, Ingird Loy, and Jason Coleman, would like to extend their heartfelt congratulations to all the nominees and winners for their dedication, commitment, and contributions to making West Liberty a thriving and dynamic institution.
The True Topper Nominees included: Alexis Pierro (Montes), Andy Blum, Bob Saas, Dawn Antal, Joe Mills, Michelle Panepucci, Stephanie North, Susan Garrison, Thomas Estlack, and Traci Closser.
The Customer Service Nominees included: Aaron Kuhn, Cyndi Gallway, Michelle Panepucci, Phil Kent, and Tammy (Tamara) Bonar.
The Top Team Nominees included: Academic Administrative Assistants, Dental Hygiene Department, Enrollment Services Department (Admissions, Financial Aid, Registrar, Housing, Campus Activities, Counseling, Health Services, & the International Office), Physical Plant (Custodial Services), and Undergraduate Teacher Education Team.
