WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Feb. 7, 2019 — The public is invited to join campus art enthusiasts as the Nutting Gallery welcomes St. Clairsville, Ohio artist Bob Dombrowski to campus for the Earth and Sky exhibition.

The opening reception is planned for 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb 13.

This house portrait is an example of Dombrowski’s work.

Ohio native Bob Dombrowski is now living in St. Clairsville, Ohio but spent 30 years in Los Angeles, Calif. and New York City, N.Y. working as a professional artist, and illustrator.

“I’m happy to be back in the Ohio Valley, I find the landscape very inspiring,” Dombrowski said. He’s been back about six years.

He is known for both private and commercial projects that creatively express form, light and emotion. His paintings have been featured in exhibitions all over the country.

“Dombrowski is an excellent artist, known for his wide range of work. Not only is he famous for his editorial illustration and fine art, but also for his decorative murals and trompe l’oeil that grace residences and corporate spaces throughout the country,” said Bob Villamagna, retired professor of art and the director of the Nutting Gallery.

He maintains a website at bobdombrowski.com and it features a pull-down that elaborates on his diverse skill, listing decorative painting, restoration, fine art, illustrations, house portraits and whimsical work as his talents.

Besides receiving his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ohio University, Dombrowski also studied in New York City at The Parsons School of Design and The School of Visual Arts.

The “Earth and Sky” exhibition will be open through March 14, 2019.

All exhibitions at the Nutting Art Gallery are free and open to the public. The Nutting Gallery is open 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays and evenings and weekends by arrangement only.
