COVID-19 Update 2022

Share

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Jan. 5, 2022 — In an effort to keep our campus safe and based on the recommendation of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, West Liberty University requires COVID-19 testing next week for all students, regardless of vaccination status.

Testing takes place Monday, Jan. 10 – Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022. The testing clinic location is the ASRC from the hours of 9 a.m. till 2 p.m. Students are scheduled based on last name. Photo ID is required for testing.

Students can attend another testing date if they are unable to attend their scheduled testing date. When arriving for testing, students should use the South Arena Floor Entrance of the ASRC, facing the football field. Students will be administered a rapid nasal swab test initially. Students testing positive from the rapid test will be administered a saliva PCR test to confirm being positive.

If you are unable to come to campus on Jan. 10 – Jan. 13, you can attend testing at another clinic (not home testing) during that time frame. You will need to upload a copy of this test result to the Student Health Portal linked here.

Students who have tested positive for COVID-19 since Oct. 16, 2021, are exempt from testing. If you did not test positive at a West Liberty University clinic, please upload a copy of your positive test result to the Student Health Portal. (You don’t need to upload another copy if you have already done so.) Positive results from home tests cannot be used to be exempted from testing.

If you are taking all courses remotely and will not be on campus at all during the Spring 2022 semester, please complete the Remote Confirmation Form, linked here. This exempts you from testing.

As a reminder, the University mask mandate remains in place. The campus community should also be reminded to continue to practice social distancing and to wash hands frequently. We are grateful for your cooperation during the pandemic.
