CLASSES FORMING FOR WLU’S DEGREE COMPLETION PROGRAM

Share

Classes are forming for students interested in completing their bachelor’s degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration (BLA) from West Liberty University.  The priority application deadline for the 18-month program is Aug. 5 and classes will start Sept. 17.

The BLA program is designed for those who seek a bachelor’s degree to enhance opportunities for employment or advancement.  To enter the program, students must have more than 60 semester hours completed, plus general studies courses.  If these two requirements are not met, students can take additional courses at WLU before officially entering the BLA program.

“The students in the class, or cohort, will move through the program together by taking Saturday courses at the Highlands Center that are complemented by an internet component,” explained Crystal Lorimor, Coordinator for the BLA at the WLU Highlands Center.

“The BLA program gives busy working adults a chance to finish their bachelor’s degree so they have more job opportunities.  It also helps them achieve a goal that many set for themselves years ago, the goal of attaining a bachelor’s degree,” added Lorimor.

Students will take courses in leadership, organizational communication and negotiation, organizational ethics, marketing for leaders, finance for administrators, leadership in literature and film, human resources for administrators, and more.

In addition, qualified students are able to apply for academic credits based on their work/life experience, and financial aid is available for qualifying students.
