Noon to 3 p.m Clinic at West Liberty Learning Center Will Help with Proper Installation;

Replacement Seats Provided at No Charge for Damaged, Defective Ones

Motorists can have experts help be sure child safety seats are installed properly by driving to the Highlands campus of West Liberty University from Noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14.

According to Wheeling police Sgt. Phil Redford, the child passenger safety program helps parents with installation of the seats so that weight and size are appropriate. Replacement seats, he said, will be provided at no charge for those that are damaged or defective.

“This is a good time to have the safety check as families plan their summer vacation travel,” said West Liberty University public safety specialist Tom Hostutler, one of the volunteers who will be staffing the clinic. He explained that signs at the Highlands retail complex will direct motorists to the location for the safety check.

Support for the program is made possible through the federally-funded Governors’ Highway Safety Program.
