CELEBRATED COLUMNIST, AUTHOR IS LUNCHEON SPEAKER IN WHEELING MAY 11

Guest of West Liberty University Economics Club; Public Invited

 

A leading national expert on economics, history, politics and government will be the luncheon speaker at the Fort Henry Club in Wheeling on Wednesday, May 11.

The public is invited to dine with Amity Shlaes at noon that day.  She is the guest of West Liberty University’s Center for Economic Philosophy.

Miss Shlaes is author of The Forgotten Man, a history of the Great Depression and New Deal programs of Franklin Roosevelt. She is a commentator on the National Public Radio program, Marketplace, and writes a column for Bloomberg News.  She has written for the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, the National Review, Foreign Affairs, the New Republic and American Spectator.  Miss Shlaes, a graduate of Yale, is also a senior fellow on the prestigious Council on Foreign Relations.
