Country music star Brad Paisley and West Liberty University have teamed up for a new advertising campaign, “Welcome to Your Future,” which will make its television debut this weekend. Paisley is a graduate of WLU.
Paisley and his hit song, “Welcome to the Future,” are featured in the promotional spot which will premiere during the WTRF-ABC broadcast of the West Virginia University-Louisiana State University football game on Saturday evening.
The new marketing campaign slogan, “Welcome to Your Future,” was inspired by Paisley’s song, WLU Vice President of Institutional Advancement Jason Koegler said. He explained that he and WLU President Robin C. Capehart attended Paisley’s concert in Cincinnati earlier this year, along with a video production crew.
“Brad was very gracious. He sat down with us backstage and spoke eloquently of his time as a student at West Liberty,” Koegler said. That conversation is part of the commercial, along with some concert footage.
Capehart added, “We are very appreciative of Brad’s participation in our efforts to spread the word about West Liberty. Just as he is at the top of his profession, West Liberty University also is reaching new heights. We are enjoying our highest enrollment since 1973 and we continue to add new graduate and undergraduate academic programs. We’re enthusiastic about our future here at WLU and very proud that Brad Paisley, one of our graduates, is a part of that future.”
Koegler said the ad will be broadcast on television stations throughout the state in the coming weeks.
