WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., March 28, 2019 — West Liberty University Foundation is looking forward to its annual Day of Giving on Tuesday, April 2 as donors join together to assist the Foundation in meeting its goal of more than $100,000 in just one day!
“Right now we are pleased to report we have more than $60,000 in matching dollars to empower our donors during this year’s 24 hour giving challenge,” said Angela Zambito-Hill, executive director of the WLU Foundation.
Donors can earmark gifts to go to the academic college or sports program they choose and access the matching dollars already in place.
There are dollar-for-dollar matches in each area, including a $15,000 match from Main Street Bank!
“West Liberty University is grateful for the matching sponsors that have stepped forward to make this year’s Day of Giving the strongest yet! We are confident that our alumni, faculty, staff and friends will help us as we work to continue to provide a quality education on the Hilltop! - Acrobatics and Tumbling: Anissa and Danny Anderson $2,000
- Baseball: Anonymous $20,000
- Men’s Basketball: Janet Loew $1,000
- Women’s Basketball: John McCullough $1,500
- Cross Country/Track and Field: John McCullough $1,500
- Football: Tom and Jane Bland $1,000
- Men’s Golf: WLU Foundation $1,000
- Women’s Golf: Janet Honecker $2,000
- Softball: David Cohen $1,000
- Men’s Tennis: WLU Foundation $1,000
- Women’s Tennis: WLU Foundation $1,000
- Men’s Soccer: Janet Honecker $1,000

Pledges made on April 2 and paid by June 30, 2019 will also count to the match. Gifts of stock or IRA rollovers also are accepted with all donations counting toward the matching funds.
