Young Executives Summit Wednesday, Nov. 2

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Oct. 31, 2022 — Gary E. West College of Business will welcome five young executives to its David Wright Executive Seminar series as it invites students to attend a Young Executives Summit.

The event includes a panel discussion and takes place at noon, on Wednesday, Nov. 2 in College Hall.

“We wanted to bring back some alumni and others to share their career tips and professional stories and we are grateful to these five young executives for taking the time to meet with our students, share their personal career paths and answer questions,” said Ingrid Loy, instructor of marketing.

Chad Matthus

Brian Campbell, Chad Matthus, Ryan Phelps, Jordyn Smith and Rachael Stevick are the young executives that will take part in the discussion.

Campbell, Mathus and Phelps are alumni of the Gary E. West College of Business. Smith and Stevick are graduates of West Virginia University. Below are the titles and organizations where each of the speakers work.

Ryan Phelps

The panel discussion will offer a 5 – 7 minute speech by each participant, followed by questions. A mini-reception will follow.

Jordyn Smith

Hosted by the WLU Marketing Club, the club members will assist the panel discussion.

Professor of Management David Wright coordinated the annual Executive Seminar Series at WLU for many years and it has been ongoing since 1986.

The seminar seeks to: further enhance the knowledge base of faculty and students within the College of Business; provide a forum through which executives can discuss their management philosophies, corporate strategies, competitive challenges, and the economic trends of specific industries; allow for a productive dialogue among business students, faculty, and corporate leaders and promote cooperation between the university and the business community.

The Gary E. West College of Business at West Liberty University (WCOB) offers an accredited Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree with a choice of majors and minors.
