WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., March 12, 2022 —WLU Foundation’s annual Day of Giving, sponsored by Roxby Development, is fast approaching.

The online giving event takes place on Wednesday, April 6 as generous alumni, donors and friends join together to support West Liberty University’s mission of higher education.

WLU Foundation President Angela Zambito-Hill

“Our Topper Day of Giving is one of the Foundation’s most important fundraisers and this year is no exception. The need for access to quality higher education in our region remains a top priority,” said Angela Zambito-Hill, president of the WLU Foundation.

The giving goal for the day is $200,000 and donors are welcome to earmark their gifts to go to the academic program, student life initiative or athletic program they choose to unlock matching dollars.

There are dollar-for-dollar matches in most areas.

“West Liberty University is grateful for the matching sponsors that have stepped forward to help us to make this year’s Day of Giving the most successful ever! We’re confident that our valued alumni, faculty, staff and friends will help us as we work to continue to provide a quality education at an affordable cost on the Hilltop! Thank you,” said Zambito-Hill.

WLU will mark 185 years of providing higher education to the Mountain State on its Founders’ Day which is annually observed on March 30.

“In honor of Founders’ Day, donors giving a minimum of $185 will receive a lapel pin in the mail to show our appreciation” she said.

Pledges received on or before April 6 and paid by June 30, 2022 will also count toward the match. Gifts of stock or IRA rollovers are accepted with all donations counting toward the matching funds.
