Graduating Art Majors Showcase Work

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Dec. 9, 2021 — West Liberty University senior art majors showcased their work in the Nutting Gallery, just before Fall Commencement in the semi-annual Senior Exhibition.

Capstones included a variety of artwork, these clay examples were created by Jacob Pierce.

“Our Fall Senior Exhibition is always a special time for students as friends, family and the campus community gather to congratulate them on their achievements as they prepare to embark on their professions. This exhibition is an important way to add confidence and professionalism to their education,” said Professor of Art Brian Fencl, director of the Nutting Gallery.

Graduating seniors include:

Work by Karleigh Kowcheck, who created a clothing brand for the skate, bike and roller community.

The capstone work exhibited in the fall 2021 Senior Exhibition was overseen by Professor of Graphic Design Moonjung Kang and Professor Fencl.

Professor Kang teaches the capstone class ART 486, Senior Project, and Professor Fencl teaches ART 498 Senior Exhibition.

The Nutting Gallery is dedicated to educating, enriching, and engaging students and the public through art exhibitions of the highest quality. Fulfilling this mission through eight exhibitions during the academic year, the schedule includes five exhibitions by visiting artists, two Senior Exhibitions, and the Annual Art Faculty Exhibition
