Live from West Liberty!
It’s the NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Men’s Basketball Tournament!
Borrowing a page from the “Saturday Night Live” playbook, West Liberty University Television (WLTV-14) and Indiana (Pa.) University Television (WIUP-TV) are working together to produce live telecasts of all seven games from this weekend’s regional championship event.
The tournament tips off Saturday afternoon with four quarterfinal games, beginning at 12:05 p.m. Semifinal games are set for 5:05 p.m. and 7:35 p.m. on Sunday with the regional final scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. start on Tuesday.
All games will be seen live on WLTV-14, which is available to more than 50,000 Comcast subscribers in the Northern Panhandle of West Virginia on Channel 14. The game telecasts will also be streamed live on the internet at www.wltvonline.com.
In addition, all games involving West Liberty’s unbeaten and No. 1-ranked Hilltopper men’s squad will be simulcast throughout the Ohio Valley on RTV-9, WTOV-TV9’s sister station. RTV9 (Digital 9.2) is Channel 208 on Comcast and is also available on the following systems: Bellaire Cable (Channel 7), Jefferson County Blue Devil (Channel 11), Centre TV (Channel 27), and Powhatan Point (Channel 27).
Reid Amos, executive director of the WLU Office of Communications and the “Voice of the Hilltoppers,” will call the play-by-play for both games during Saturday’s evening session along with all West Liberty games. Aaron Huffman will provide color commentary with West Liberty students Brittni Lindgren and Kayla Stickley serving as sideline reporters.
The WIUP-TV broadcast team will handle commentary for Saturday’s afternoon doubleheader along with Sunday’s first semifinal contest if IUP advances.
Starting times for all games have been moved back 5 minutes to accommodate the telecasts. Following is the revised schedule of games with the new starting times.
