WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., May 30, 2022 — Aladdin Campus Dining is proud to partner with West Liberty University (WLU), expanding its dining footprint on university campuses in West Virginia.
“West Liberty University welcomes Aladdin Campus Dining to our beautiful campus. We know that our students, staff, and faculty will quickly come to appreciate the dining experience that Aladdin embodies and the healthy and delicious menu options that it serves,” said Dr. W. Franklin Evans, WLU President.
Aladdin’s contract begins on July 1, 2022.
With a proven record of success in increasing board plan participation, Aladdin will transition dining services beginning July 1st, where WLU students will experience Aladdin’s fresh and healthier prepared signature food brands, including a wide selection of nutritious menu items at each meal.
According to WLU’s Director of Purchasing Patrick Kelly, Aladdin’s management philosophy, culinary and technical approach to dining services, scored well above the competition.
“We selected Aladdin Campus Dining as the new food service vendor based on factors including their commitment to students, culinary expertise, as well as their design skills to improve the aesthetics, speed of service and digital menus as part of a future remodeling project. This partnership gives us the exciting opportunity to work with a company that truly pays attention to our campus dining details, our people and our culture,” Kelly said.
Upon returning in the fall, students will experience our BeWell interactive program focused on making the healthy choice the easy choice. Within this program not only will there be gluten free and vegan options but our Fueled program will offer athletes and active individuals with food options to enhance their performance and training tables to help educate student athletes.
Trending in retail food concepts, Aladdin’s WeBurg, a modern throwback to the American roadside grill, will also be offered. WeBurg features classic burgers or cheeseburgers, including the all-American, jalapeno BBQ, steakhouse burger, and the grilled or crispy chicken sandwich – all prepared with fresh ground beef or chicken on a brioche bun! Or, a build your own option offers the flexibility to design your own burger creation from premium toppings and sauces, along with sides, including crinkle cut and sweet potato fries. Milkshakes, the iconic dessert, are made with Hershey’s Ice Cream out of PA! WeBurg promises to make the dining experience authentic!
According to Joe DeSalvo, Aladdin Campus Dining Vice President of Operations, “We are excited to partner with WLU! We are committed to their students, faculty and guests in providing a well-focused dining experience. To accommodate both commuter and residential students, we will also add a new We Proudly Serve Starbucks, ranked nationally in the top three most popular restaurant chains among college students.” Starbucks offers a menu of handcrafted espressos and blended beverages along with Aladdin’s Tryon Market grab-and-go options for breakfast, lunch and dinner!
WLU’s c-store, known as Bear Necessities, will also experience enhancements, including a Coca-Cola touch screen soda fountain, along with freshly grab-and- go meals to convenience all of our guests on the go!
