WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Dec. 1, 2014 — West Liberty University’s Gary E. West College of Business honored 21 students inducted into the Delta Mu Delta International Honor Society on Nov. 13 with an installation ceremony held at the Boyle Conference Center.
“We’re proud of our students who have taken this step and joined the national honorary of business students. This achievement is official recognition of their efforts and work as they build their futures,” said Dr. Carrie White, faculty advisor to the WLU chapter of Delta Mu Delta.
Cords, certificates and a key pin were presented to students: Jessica Baker, Chelsea Bartie, Megan Bobes, Karissa Duke, Jonathan Hagan, Melissa Haught, Kendal Hukall, William Jones, Brendan Kacor, Michael Lamberti, Yaquing Li, Tyler McGary, Jarrett Moore, Alexandra Neidhardt, Rebecca Nixon, Zachary Novel, Kaylynn Petrisin, Christopher Secore, Nina Sparks and Ashley Wallace.
WLU Delta Mu Delta officers are senior business students: Tannor Mossor (Parkersburg, W.Va.), president; Christian Coe (Cameron, W.Va.), vice president; and Lauren Novotney (Wheeling), secretary/treasurer.
To be considered for membership in Delta Mu Delta students must be registered in business administration programs and be candidates for the baccalaureate degree. They also must have 80 credit hours completed at West Liberty University and have a 3.25 GPA or above, according to White.
“Membership recognition is the highest national recognition a business student can earn and it continues for a lifetime,” she said.
Founded in 1913, Delta Mu Delta, recognizes and encourages academic excellence of students at qualifying colleges and universities to create a network that fosters the well-being of its individual members and the business community through its membership.
“Membership adds the distinction of Delta Mu Delta to our graduates’ resumés and offers another way to network in the professional field,” noted West.
