Classes Now Virtual for Week One

August 11, 2020

WEST LIBERTY, W.Va., Aug. 11, 2020 — Due to COVID-19 testing of all students and employees, West Liberty University has announced that all classes, both graduate and undergraduate, will now be remote or virtual for the first week.

In-seat classes will not begin until Aug. 24 on the Main Campus and Aug. 22 at the Highlands.

For questions pertaining to classes, please contact class instructors/professors.

This decision has been made due to the desire to await COVID-19 test results after the mass testing being done by the Wheeling-Ohio County Health Department the weekend of Aug. 14 – 17. (For more information on the testing, please see this Aug. 7 press release.)

All students who test positive will be sent home if possible, or in cases when a positive student is unable to return home, they will be isolated/quarantined here on campus. Employees who test positive will be asked to isolate/quarantine at home.
