  • Currently studying in the Master of Music Percussion Performance program at George Mason University
“My studies in the WLU Music Technology program are helping my career progress within 3 months of graduating!  The flexible scheduling and variety of classes let me gain technology-based skills in music, video, and digital design.  Now I am already applying my skills at George Mason University in my studies and teaching assistantship; I also get to help run a new sound system for a local High School Marching Band where I work as an instructor.”

West Liberty is the perfect school for anyone who wants to broaden their knowledge of music in an environment perfect for musical and artistic growth, because it has a tight knit family which is unbelievably supportive and encouraging.

  • Audio Production Manager at The Capitol Theater in Wheeling, WV

“From the first time I stepped foot on the campus of West Liberty I knew I had found the school for me. The students, faculty, staff, and administration always treated me with respect and helped me every step of the way. Having great professors, a state of the art recording studio, and classes fit to molding me as a sound tech readied me for my job, which I started before my senior year. Now I’m enjoying a great career as a live sound engineer. I can’t thank the music department at West Liberty enough for helping me to live my dream!“

  • Currently K-8 General Music Teacher and 4-8 Grade Band Director at West Park Elementary School in Buckeye, Arizona

“West Liberty University’s music education program was the perfect fit for me! From the moment I toured the music department to my very first class as a music major, I had never felt more welcomed from both students and professors alike! Small class sizes helped to maximize my learning as a future music educator and allowed me the opportunity to work one-on-one with my professors whenever needed. When I graduated from West Liberty University’s music education program, my fellow colleagues, the faculty and staff had become more like a second family to me.”

Bachelor of Arts |  Music Education
Class of 2009

  • Currently a freelance private voice teacher, clinician and performer

“I came to West Liberty like many others, not knowing what to expect as a music major. What I got were great professors, small class sizes, and plenty of experience doing many things. I also gained life-time friends and memories to cherish. One of the most memorable times was traveling to Italy in 2007 with the Chamber Choir. Never in a million years did I ever expect to do anything like that. I wouldn’t have, had I not chose West Liberty.

My experience at WLU has prepared me for the professional world. Being in such a small department I was able to get hands-on experience working in all areas of music. Those experiences, and the amazing faculty, staff, and friends that I have, truly assisted in my career development and for that I am truly grateful.”
