Syd Weiler will outline disastrous career events that her private art school education did NOT prepare her for, how she overcame them, and provide you with the knowledge on how to do the same. It might just save your butt.  Lightening-round topics will include:
– How Social Media Sucks and why you have to use it
– Contract and licensing tips from the royally screwed-over
– Self-care and wellness tricks from a crunch-convert
– A quick n’ dirty copyright law overhaul (insert: not-a-lawyer disclaimer here)

3D animation with Lightwave

Animation – All ability levels – Hands on workshop. Students will participate in the making of simple 3D animations. Christian Lee
Stop-n-Go Animation

 

(20 participants)

Hands on workshop. A stop motion workshop using rod puppets, a metronome, go pro cameras and a computer with adobe media encoder. If you have an i-phone, bring it! Tom Estlack
Creating a Watercolor Painting Effect in Photoshop

 

(20 participants)

Hands on workshop. In this session, students will experience the the aesthetics of a hand painted picture using watercolor paints. Photoshop brushes, filters, and paper effects will add an extra level of realism to produce a convincing effect. Moonjung Kang

Theater Design – All ability levels – Hands on workshop. Learn how to create realistic injuries using stage makeup. Meta Lasch and West Liberty theater students
The Art of Digital Set Design

Theater Design – All ability levels – Hands on workshop. Digital design for the stage. Participants will learn how VectorWorks is used as a means of set design. The session will include using an iPad to produce digital designs for theater. Meta Lasch and West Liberty theater students
Mixed Media Workshop  – “Cut and Paste Doctor”

Mixed Media – All ability levels – Hands on workshop. Kick it back like a real punk from the 80’s with this collage/zine workshop. You will use a multi array of products to grunge up your artwork. In this workshop we mix collage art with a sketch-like style of zine making to produce an authentic punk style of art. Student Members of the West Liberty University Art Club
Digital image making with the I-Pad

Digital Imaging – All ability levels – Hands on workshop. Participants will be introduced to image making apps for the IPad while they rapidly create and upload images and animations. Brian Fencl and West Liberty University Art Students

Aerial Videography and Photography

Hands on Workshop Take a “crash course” (without any crashes) in aerial media using the DJI Phantom aircraft. The session will cover basic aeronautical flight operations and UAS safety and usage. Jared Thompson
Hand to Hand Combat Techniques

Theater – Hands on Workshop Learn the fundamentals of stage fighting. Techniques in realistic fight scenes will be practiced by participants.
