The Hughes Lecture Series welcomed Jessie van Eerden to campus in March of 2017. Jessie is the author of two novels, My Radio Radio and Glory Bound, as well as several short stories and essays in prominent literary journals. She is the director of West Virginia Wesleyan’s low-residency MFA program. During her visit she delivered a lecture on portrait writing across the genres and a reading from her forthcoming collection of essays The Long Weeping. Both are viewable below.
