Professor Grubbs is a printmaker who has several works in permanent collections. He has been a peer journal editor for the National Art Education Association (2014-2017), Visual Inquiry: Learning & Teaching Art (2010-present) and Oxford Press (2015). In 2015, Professor Grubbs was a guest lecturer at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library on the topic of the arts, humanities, and education.
In 2016, he worked with Arkansas A+ Schools as a co-researcher, and was a central figure of a grant-supported Arts integration pilot study in collaboration with University of Central Arkansas education faculty and the THEA Foundation. In 2015, he received the Art Education Professor of the Year award by the Arkansas Art Teachers Association. Grubbs current research focuses on developing arts curriculum that increases student creativity.
