ALUMNI “WALL OF HONOR” The West Liberty University Alumni Board of Directors instituted a project in 1990 to demonstrate to current students, visitors, and friends that the college has some very successful graduates. This project, known as the “Alumni Wall of Honor,” is a dramatic way to honor some of the college’s most distinguished alumni and display pride in the accomplishments of its graduates. The concept was suggested by then Associate Professor of Physics Robert W. Schramm, who is a 1958 graduate of the college and a 2002 Alumni Wall of Honor inductee. The Alumni Wall of Honor is housed in the south end of the Union known as the Alumni Lounge.
James P Frum
Inducted 2000James P. Frum graduated from West Liberty State College and West Virginia University with a MS degree in speech pathology and audiology. Frum holds a certificate of clinical competence in both speech pathology and audiology. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and past president and founding member of the West Virginia Speech, Language and Hearing Association. Frum is past president of the West Liberty Alumni Association Board of Directors, member of the West Liberty State College Foundation Board and the West Liberty State College Board of Advisors. He has been an adjunct assistant professor of speech pathology at West Liberty State College. Frum developed the department of audiology at Wheeling Clinic and initiated the department of audiology at Wheeling Hospital and Ohio Valley Medical Center. His wife, Carol, is also a West Liberty State College graduate and is director of the dental hygiene program.
