Russ and Jean Schwertfeger of Bethany celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary , Nov. 22, 2015 with their family.
They were united in marriage Nov. 22, 1950, at Christ United Methodist Church, Wheeling.
Jean Schwertfeger is the daughter of the late Corrine Gordon of Wheeling. She retired from Bethany College as a mailroom clerk.
Russ Schwertfeger is the son of the late Charles and Katie Schwertfeger of West Liberty. He is retired from Brooke County Schools as a teacher and basketball coach.
They are the parents of five children. The family includes Rusty and his wife, Kim, of Bethany; Mark and his wife, Marcia, of Wellsburg; Kris and her husband, Jim Liptak of Winder, Ga.; Jay and his wife, Mary, of Bethany and Dawn and her husband, Mark Swiger, of West Liberty. They have 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
