Nancy Shipley Warmuth – 1947

Nancy C. Shipley Warmuth, 90, of Benwood, WV, died Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the Country Club Retirement Campus, Bellaire, OH.

She was born November 17, 1925 in Harrisburg, PA, a daughter of the late Rezin Davis and Catherine Boger Shipley.

Nancy was a graduate of Steelton High School, Steelton, PA, attended Southern Seminary in Buena Vista, VA, was a graduate of West Liberty State College with a degree in Dental Hygiene, and was retired from the Marshall County Health Department as a Dental Hygienist. She helped many children in the area regarding proper dental care in the school systems through the school programs.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hills United Methodist Church, where she was a trustee and was active in the community on numerous boards including Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Northern Panhandle Head Start and the Marshall County Health Department, Marshall County Animal Rescue League, and Chairman of the National Organization on Disabilities and The Consumer Advisory Committee.

Nancy is a member/ inductee of the West Liberty University Wall of Honor. Nancy is noted as the first licensed female horse trainer in the State of WV.

In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Richard A. Warmuth in 2000, a brother; Fredrick Shipley and a sister; Virginia Shipley.

Nancy is survived by her children; Richard A. Warmuth, Jr. and his wife, Debra of Wheeling, Brian L. Warmuth and his wife, Rosemary Humway- Warmuth of Wheeling, 2 grandchildren; Davis Andrew Warmuth, Tamara Patrone and her husband John and a great grandson, Nicholas Patrone.

Entombment will be at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, WV.
