Margaret Dale Isiminger Moninger, 107, of Aleppo Twp., Greene Co., Pa., died at 7:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2015 in Southwest Regional Medical Center, Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born on February 4, 1908 in Springhill Twp., Greene Co., Pa. (Mt. Carmel), a daughter of the late Henry Wise and Lucinda Whipkey Isiminger and had resided in Aleppo and Springhill Twp. for most of her life.
Mrs. Moninger was a member of the Centennial Church of God where she served as a deaconess and a Sunday school teacher for the young adult class.
She was a 1927 graduate of Cameron High School and attended the former Fairmont State Teachers College and earned her teaching certification from the former West Liberty State College.
Mrs. Moninger briefly taught at the former Mt. Carmel, Herrods Run and Pigeon Run schools prior to her marriage.
She was a 7th degree member of the former Aleppo Grange, and also a member of the State, Pomona, and National Granges and a charter member of the Warrior Trail Association.
Mrs. Moninger enjoyed traveling, reading and spending time with her family and grandchildren and at the age of 97 learned to use a computer in order to follow two of her nephew’s while they traveled to the South Pole.
On December 24, 1929 she married Donley McClure Moninger who died on April 8, 1995.
Surviving are three children, Shirley Zimmerman of Aleppo Twp., Sharron, wife of David Creighton of Findlay, Oh., and Calvin Moninger of Cameron, W.Va.; ten grandchildren, Debra Stewart, Donna Roberts, Nancy Horr, David and Grant Moninger, Jeffrey and Jeannette Moninger, Kim Creighton Flynn, Mark and Steve Creighton; 17 great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Isiminger of Dearborn, MI; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are a son, Donley Eugene Moninger; four great grandchildren, three sisters, Inzie Gray, Alma King, and Helena Bakey; and four brothers, Roy, Anon, Jacob, and Edison Isiminger.
